I started this illustration almost a year ago, and for the longest time it just sat in the background, unfinished and collecting dust. A big part of that was me struggling to render the water in a way that was realistic but also stylized!! But I never gave up on it, It took me countless retries before finally figuring it out 💡!! And what really helped push me through was the incredible work of one of my favorite artists, (artof666k on IG) who’s an absolute master at painting water. Studying their art gave me the inspiration and techniques I needed to finally bring this piece to life 🙌🏼🌊
